The illustrations in the patent shows a smartphone equipped with OLED-screen folding in half. Such a device can be worn as a notebook and use it during the opening.

Issue device in a new form-factor may become a new impetus for the smartphone market, which has recently shown a slowdown. The Apple patent points out that folding smartphone manufacturer is considered as a full-fledged representative of the next generation of devices.

Earlier, Samsung has repeatedly announced plans to introduce the first fully folding device at the beginning of 2016.
